Every piece priced right, every piece accounted for

High-value stock does not forgive loose bookkeeping. SaleSprint prices against the day's gold rate, tracks each item by its own serial number, and records who touched it and when.

What generic POS software gets wrong here

  • Gold moves daily. A POS with one fixed price per product means someone re-keys the whole showcase every morning, or sells yesterday's rate on today's metal and never notices the margin gone.
  • Two identical-looking bangles are not interchangeable — they differ in weight, karat and cost. A system that counts quantity instead of identifying individual pieces cannot tell you which one you actually sold.
  • Customers pay for a piece over three or six months. Generic software treats that as an unpaid invoice rather than a reserved item with a deposit ledger, so the piece either gets sold twice or sits unsold with no record of why.
  • When a piece goes missing, the question is not what the report says — it is who had it, from when, and under whose approval. Most POS systems cannot answer that.

Built for the way you actually operate

Every one of these is a real screen in SaleSprint — not a request form or a “coming soon” tile.

Daily Gold-Rate Pricing

Post the day's rate once and let pricing follow it. Pieces priced by metal weight and karat recalculate from the current rate, with making charges and stone value added on top.

Serial Number Per Piece

Each item is tracked as its own unit with its own weight, karat, cost and location. Stock counts reconcile piece by piece rather than by a quantity on a shelf label.

Layaway & Instalment Sales

Reserve the piece, take a deposit, and hold it out of sellable stock while the customer pays it down. Every instalment posts to a deposit ledger until the final collection.

Weight, Karat & Trade-In

Capture gross weight, net weight, karat and stone detail on every piece. Old gold taken in part-exchange is valued on the same basis and enters stock as scrap or as a re-sellable item.

Insurance-Grade Audit Trail

Every movement, price change, discount and approval is written to an immutable audit log with the user, timestamp and before-and-after value — the record an insurer or auditor asks for.

Photos & Certificates on the Item

Attach images, certificates and appraisal documents to the piece itself so the showcase, the safe and the stock record all describe the same object.

How a day runs

1

Set the rate

Post today's gold rate before the shop opens. Rate-linked pieces reprice automatically; fixed-price items such as watches stay where they are.

2

Bring stock out

Move pieces from the safe to the showcase as a location transfer. What is in the display case is a stock location, not an assumption.

3

Sell or reserve

Sell outright, or take a deposit and put the piece on layaway. Part-exchanged gold is weighed in and credited against the sale on the same ticket.

4

Close and reconcile

Return the showcase to the safe against a piece-by-piece count, close the till, and review the day's margin against the rate you posted that morning.

Questions we get

Where does the daily gold rate come from?

You post it. SaleSprint stores the rate you enter each day and prices rate-linked items against it, keeping a history so any past sale can be explained by the rate that applied that day. We do not auto-pull from a commodity exchange — that keeps you in control of the spread you actually trade at.

Can we handle repairs and custom orders?

Yes. Repairs and custom work run as service jobs against a customer, with the customer's own gold or your stock issued to the job, labour charged, and the finished piece either collected or returned to stock. The job carries the same audit trail as a sale.

How do instalments work if the customer stops paying?

The deposit sits in a liability ledger, not in revenue, until the piece is collected. If a layaway is cancelled, you settle it under your own policy — refund, partial forfeit or credit — and the piece returns to sellable stock with the full history intact.

Is the audit trail strong enough for an insurance claim?

It records the user, device, timestamp and the before-and-after value for every change, and it cannot be edited from the application. Combined with serialised stock and attached photos, that is normally what an insurer or a loss adjuster asks to see. We cannot speak for a specific policy — show it to your insurer.

We have two shops and a workshop. Does that cost more?

Multi-location is part of the platform, and pricing is by plan tier rather than per branch beyond your tier's allowance. The workshop is usually set up as a stock location rather than a shop, so pieces in production are visible without being sellable.
