Agri POS

From the field to the counter, one set of books

Agribusinesses both grow and sell. SaleSprint tracks yield by field, flock or pond, turns the harvest into sellable stock, and runs the input shop that sits at the farm gate.

What generic POS software gets wrong here

  • A retail POS starts at the moment something is sold. On a farm most of the cost is already spent by then — seed, feed, labour, fuel — and if none of that is attached to a field or a flock, the shop looks profitable while the farm quietly is not.
  • Produce arrives in kilograms, crates and head, not in barcoded units. Software that insists every item is a scannable SKU forces someone to invent numbers at the weighbridge.
  • Input dealers sell on credit to farmers who pay after harvest. A system with no credit limits, no ageing and no approval gate turns that into an uncollectable book nobody can size.
  • When a buyer asks which plot and which spray cycle a consignment came from, the answer lives in a notebook that left with the supervisor.

Built for the way you actually operate

Every one of these is a real screen in SaleSprint — not a request form or a “coming soon” tile.

Field-Level Yield Tracking

Set up plots, houses or ponds as production units. Inputs issued and labour applied land against that unit, so yield per hectare or per bird is measured against what it actually cost.

Harvest Into Stock

A harvest is a receipt of goods, not a note. Weigh in, grade, and the produce becomes inventory at a calculated cost, ready to sell, transfer to a cold room or send to processing.

Inputs, Feed & Consumption

Issue seed, feed, fertiliser and agrochemicals from the store to a specific field or flock. Consumption is stock movement, so the store balance and the farm record never drift apart.

Agri-Input POS with Credit

Sell inputs over the counter with per-customer credit limits, an approval gate when a farmer goes over, and an ageing report that tells you exactly what is owed before harvest.

Batch & Lot Traceability

Every lot carries its origin, harvest date and expiry where relevant. Trace a consignment back to the plot it came from, or forward to every buyer who received it.

Weighted and Bulk Selling

Sell by kilogram, crate, bag or head, with unit conversions handled once at the product level so a 50kg bag and a loose kilo draw down the same stock.

How a day runs

1

Plan the cycle

Open the season on a field or flock. Purchase seed, feed and chemicals into the store with supplier invoices matched against what was delivered.

2

Issue and work

Issue inputs from the store to the production unit as they are used. Labour and other costs attach to the same unit through the day.

3

Harvest and receive

Weigh in the harvest against the production unit, grade it, and receive it into stock as a traceable lot ready for sale or storage.

4

Sell and settle

Sell produce in bulk or inputs at the counter, on cash or credit. Collections, ageing and margin per cycle land in the same dashboards and ledger.

Questions we get

Can it read our weighbridge or platform scale?

SaleSprint supports weight-based items and scale integration at the counter, so weighed produce prices itself. For a large weighbridge, most farms key the ticket weight against the harvest or sale document — the record is the same either way, and the weight is captured at the point it is measured.

Most of our farm has no network coverage. Does that matter?

No. The app is offline-first by design. Supervisors capture issues, harvests and sales on a phone or tablet in the field, and everything syncs when the device gets back into coverage or onto the farm network.

How do we handle farmers who pay after harvest?

Set a credit limit per customer. Sales beyond the limit need approval before they go through, balances age automatically, and you can send WhatsApp or SMS reminders from the receivables screen. Repayments can be partial and are tracked to the invoice.

We buy produce from outgrowers as well as growing our own. Can it handle that?

Yes. Buying in is a purchase against a supplier, weighed and graded on receipt, and it lands in the same stock with its own lot. Your own harvest and bought-in produce sit side by side with separate costs, which is what you need to price a mixed consignment.

Do we need the farm side and the shop side on separate systems?

No, and that is the point. The store the farm draws from and the shop that sells to walk-in customers are locations in one tenant, so a bag of feed issued to your own layers and a bag sold to a neighbour both reduce the same stock.
